Safeguarding comes first

Because many students would be minors, a real programme would need all of the following before launch.

Parental consent

Guardian consent for every participant under 18.

Mentor vetting

ID checks, background checks where legally required, and training.

Safeguarding lead

A named person, clear reporting routes and a code of conduct.

No private 1:1 chat

Only moderated, logged communication channels.

Privacy (GDPR)

Minimal data, clear retention rules, no public sharing.

Supervised sessions

Group or observed sessions, scheduled through the platform.
